Year 2 Have a Colourful Week
As Robin Williams once said “ Spring is nature’s way of saying, ‘Let’s party.” We have all definitely felt that way with sun shining on us all in the playground. The cold air didn’t put us off and we all loved seeing the sunshine again. Having to wear trainers rather than wellies has been noticed by all the children. The uplifting weather put us in a very good mood when a letter arrived in our classroom addressed to Princess Lily. We decided to open and read the letter. It was so lucky we did; because it was from Rumpelstiltskin, and he was now living in Mexico! He had travelled through the centre of the earth after he had stamped his foot on the floor and arrived in Mexico. His letter was not very nice, and we decided we needed to make a plan to help Lily. Many of us tried to support Rumpelstiltskin and appeal to the kinder side of his personality. The letters produced by the Year 2 children were amazing and the teachers think it would be hard for Rumpelstiltskin to resist some of their very polite requests. As it was Neurodiversity Awareness Week, we discussed as a class and in groups how we are all different, and how these differences make us a wonderful group of fun, caring people. To finish as we started “ No matter what anybody tells you, words and ideas can change the world,” Robin Williams.
