Year 3 Parachute Testing
Year 3 have been making the most of the fine weather in their Science lessons this week when they carried out an investigation to explore the concept of air resistance. The young scientists created parachutes of various sizes and dropped them from the adventure playground towers to observe how different parachute sizes affected the time it took for them to reach the ground. Equipped with stopwatches, they carefully timed each descent, recording the duration it took for each parachute to land. The children discovered that larger parachutes generally took longer to reach the ground compared to smaller ones. The teamwork on display was fantastic, as were the levels of conscientiousness and enthusiasm throughout.
