This week we have begun our new topic ‘Minibeasts’ starting with an all-time favourite, ‘Superworm’ by Julia Donaldson. The children have been busy using clay to make their own superworms, thinking carefully about how their superworm would save the day. We had some excellent ideas from “Superworm the train” to “Superworm the hat”. In Forest school, the children discovered real life Superworms - looking closely at the different parts of a worms body and collecting materials to use for our class Wormery. The children have enjoyed learning the song ‘There’s a worm at the bottom of my garden’ and creating various minibeasts on the creative table.
