Reception Spot 3D Shapes
The beautiful artwork of Guiseppe Arcimboldo has inspired us this week and the children have created amazing faces using carrots, cucumber, curly kale and many other fruits and vegetables. We are very excited to see some of the signs of Spring in our school grounds and have placed some hyacinth bulbs in special vases so that we can see their roots develop. We have made predictions as to what colour the flowers might be and have learned about tally marks when voting for our favourite hue. On Thursday we ventured out for a shape walk, spotting and naming 3d shapes in our environment; who knew there were so many cylinders in the Hazlegrove grounds? In the afternoon, we made paper cup telephones, linked to our themed 'Time to Talk' day, and enjoying sharing our news with our friends across the string! Another busy and wonderful week!
