Year 4 Conduct Their First Dissection

Year 4 have been studying the fascinating topic of movement. They've learnt about the functions of the human skeleton, how muscles work in pairs, and how to plan practical experiments on muscle strength. To look closer at the complexities of movement, Year 4 conducted their very first dissection on chicken wings. Carefully, they removed the skin to examine the muscles and tendons underneath, and then explored the bones by removing the tissue. The pupils demonstrated impressive enthusiasm and maturity while using specialised dissection tools, and we may just have some future surgeons in the making!
