Pre-School Explore Penguins

Lost and Found has been a wonderful story which we have been exploring this week through words, pictures and actions; we made a boat to sit in and recreated the story using our imaginations along with some wooden spoon oars! Demonstrating strong finger muscles, we have made and moulded salt dough to create penguins which we have painted using lots of penguin images as a guide. Thinking about how the penguin feels in the story, we have talked about our emotions and how we can help each other feel happy. In maths, we have been practising subitising by being able to say how many we see without counting- using a dice with spots then counting the spots to check the amount.

In music this week, we have been learning about how to change our voice to make loud, quiet, high or low sounds- we have been learning the songs Cobbler Cobbler and See Saw. We took part in a super dance session where we all decided which toy we would be and it was lovely to observe robots, dogs and unicorns moving to the music.

On Monday, it was a pleasure to welcome families in for a stay and learn session where we made some wonderful penguins using mixed media, it is always so lovely to have families into Pre-School and share the fun.

Next week we will be sharing the story Stick Man and taking part in a stick collecting adventure!
