Year 6 Science Exercise Practical
Year 6 embarked on an exciting scientific experiment to investigate how their breathing rate changes with exercise. They began by discussing various variables that could affect their results, such as the type of exercise, duration, and intensity. Pupils also learned how to accurately record their results and present their findings. With their plan in place, Year 6 eagerly participated in competitive running. Cheers could be heard as they raced against each other, all the while monitoring their breathing rates. After the running session, they analysed their data and concluded that the body needs more energy to contract muscles during exercise. This increased energy demand requires more oxygen for respiration, leading to faster and deeper breathing.
Pupils enjoyed the activity and gained valuable insights into how the body responds to physical exertion.
