Reception Explore Shaving Foam and Messy Sinks
Reception have been in a mischievous mood this week, enjoying some very messy learning. We enjoyed experiencing the wreckage of the sieve from our story “Traction Man is Here” as our teachers found some very disgusting sink water just like in the book. Inside our sinks, we found “bogey green broccoli, slimy spaghetti, stinky grey water and the friendly scrubbing brush.” We felt very sorry for Traction Man as he had to swim through this to explore the wreckage of the sieve and avoid the poisonous dishcloth. This inspired us to design our very own disgusting sinks. The children had some fabulous ideas and were able to apply their sounds, labelling all the items caught in their wreckage. We also had lots of smiles as we practiced our letter formation in shaving foam, thinking carefully about where our letters should start and end. The watercolour paints also came out this week as we designed ‘super’ city landscapes to fly over as we talked about reaching for the stars with our dreams and setting ourselves goals in our Jigsaw lessons.
