Year 4 and 6 learn all about Hinduism

Year 4 and Year 6 were surrounded by the sounds, smells and colours of India when our Hindu visitors came on Tuesday!

They shared their religious culture with the children including Diwali. The children learned how to put on saris and turbans and danced traditional Hindu dances with coloured wooden sticks. They painted eachother's faces with Indian-themed designs.

We asked some of the Year 6 pupils to tell us what they had enjoyed:

‘I absolutely loved the talk because it was a very fun experience. I liked it when we were shown how to put on saris.’ Bea G

‘It was very interesting learning about a completely different culture! For me personally, I loved the face painting the most, but I also enjoyed the dancing. It was an amazing two hours and I wish I could do it again.’ Jemima M

‘I really enjoyed the stick dancing and the colourful clothes that we got to wear.’ Gilbert G

‘The whole room was filled with interesting treasure – I loved looking at them and learning about new things.’ Freya S
