Year 1 are Delving Into Their New Topic of Houses and Homes
Well, sadly our Space topic has come to an end, and our new topic, Houses and Homes, links closely to History and Geography.
This week in English we met a brown rat who does not want to live in bin number 3 any longer and is looking for a new home. He does not want to have baths but would like a name, a collar, and will eat anything. Year 1 learnt to describe this pesky rat and some of the settings in the book as well as helping him to make an advert for a new home. In Maths, we continued work on place value and moved on to money, counting amounts and learning to find change. Our highlight was our visit from Mr Stok who told us all about homes in the past. Our week also included Uni-hock games and fitness in P.E, space songs in Music, dancing routines and setting goals in PSHE lessons.
