U11 hockey boys win the Sherborne Tournament

Well, back to school with a tournament on the very first day of the term - what a way to start!

A group of year 6 boys headed over to a chilly Sherborne on Wednesday last week to play in the annual tournament against Clayesmore, All Hallows, Millfield, Castle Court, Chafyn Grove and Sherborne Prep.

After a pretty intense day with lots of hockey and some ups and downs, Hazlegrove made it through to the semi-finals where they beat All Hallows 1-0 and then faced Millfield in the final.  We won that game 2-0 and were crowned the overall winners - champions.

Medals and a lovely trophy were awarded to all eight players and special awards were given to:

• Arthur N - who was named ‘goalkeeper of the tournament’
• Josh C - who was named ‘player of the tournament’
