Prep Food Technology

Year 6 pupils have been very enthusiastic and creative in Food Tech already this term, as they have been busy making their own new pasta shapes from scratch.

They have learned about all the different types of pasta shapes available and how they are made from flour, eggs, and water. They have also discovered some of the origins and meanings of the pasta names, and how they are related to their shapes to help them come up with their own ideas.

Using their imagination and skills, the pupils have invented some completely unique and interesting pasta shapes, such as tennis rackets, burgers, sea creatures, and flowers. They have also given them some very creative names. Some of their creations are very educational and intricately detailed, which is so wonderful to see. They have also catered for different dietary needs, by making gluten-free pasta. They have shown great teamwork and innovation in this project, and they are looking forward to tasting their wonderful and wacky pasta.
