Newly Refurbished Blackford House

The start of the term was extra exciting for our girl boarders who returned to the newly refurbished Blackford House!

As well as a makeover of the two entrances, the common room has been given the real WOW factor, and the introduction of a new common room just for the Year 8 girls has been very well received!

Director of Boarding and Houseparent of Blackford, Alistair Forbes said, ‘All of the ideas came from the suggestions of the children, our older girls have always wanted a space where they could relax and chill out, and the new Year 8 common room provides exactly that. Meanwhile, downstairs, the new common room for the whole house has new furniture, beanbags, games and books and looks fantastic. The corridors have been given a facelift too and we have a lovely new seating area in the side entrance with new cushions as well as further seating and relaxation areas upstairs’.

And the work did not stop there! The garden benches all have new cushions, and flower pots and there are plans for a fountain within a newly designed courtyard – watch this space !

Feedback has been excellent with parents loving the new colour scheme and the girls have been thrilled with the new spaces. A great start to the new term for our boarders.
