Year 3 pupil, Esmé A, has won the Sandy Padgett Award at this year's Pride of Somerset Youth Awards.

The Sandy Padgett Award is given to the young person who has undertaken an outstanding individual or community activity. The awards today are in honour of Somerset Day on 11th May 2021.

Esmé is recognised for her bravery when (at 6 years old) she called 999 when her mummy fell ill on the roadside, thanks to her quick-thinking she was able to guide the ambulance to their location using the sat nav.

Esmé, her mother Jenn and Mrs Davison were interviewed by Claire Carter for BBC Radio Somerset which was played on her breakfast show this morning. Listen here at 2:13:45 - Breakfast on BBC Radio Somerset - 11/05/2021

We are so proud of Esmé and the recognition she is receiving for such a courageous act.
