33 medals at the IAPS National Karate Championships

In March, 18 Hazlegrove pupils travelled to Bradfield College in Berkshire to contest the IAPS National Karate Championships.

On a busy day, the children managed to accumulate 33 medals in the various different categories which included both individual and team competitions for Kata and Kumite.  Despite being a small squad this is an impressive total and placed them 3rd overall, just 8 points behind the 2nd placed school.

Medals in the age and grade categories included 6 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals with gold medals going to Lottie R and Sam L in the Individual Kata, Lucy S and Freddie L in the Individual Kumite and Lucy S and Lottie R for the Team Kata.
