A huge thank you to the Friends' Committee, Kitchen Staff, The Estates Team and all the children and parents who came along. When we all pull together, fun happens, it's just something else that Hazlegrove is very good at.

On Saturday night a stream of Cowboys and Cowgirls made their way to the Sports Hall for the Hazlegrove Hoedown. The Friends organised the event to welcome our new Headmaster and his wife to the Hazlegrove community. The Hall was transformed with bunting, trees, props, flags and flowers and there was even a life like campfire to sit around, all of which gave the feeling of a welcoming village fete. So many children, parents and teachers came together all dressed up for the occasion – there were Stetsons and cowboy boots aplenty. The children loved the Bucking Bronco and Laser Saloon Shoot Out and we all appreciated the delicious chilli and brownies. The main event was the brilliant band ‘Blazin’ Saddles’ who managed to inspire so many to get up and have a go at the line dancing. The band were also accompanied by some of our own young musicians for a few of their songs, which was a great experience for them. It really was quite special to see so many of the children dancing with their friends and parents and teachers and generally having a laugh along the way.

The evening offered a chance for all to meet and chat with Mr and Mrs White in a very informal and happy atmosphere but it was noted that they did escape to the dance floor a number of times during the evening. Even the dancing gave them an opportunity to meet and dance with a new partner. All in all a very enjoyable time was had by all the Cowboys and Cowgirls.

A huge thank you to the Friends' Committee, Kitchen Staff, The Estates Team and all the children and parents who came along. When we all pull together, fun happens, it's just something else that Hazlegrove is very good at.
