A Wonderful Concert by Mrs Sclater and her Instrumental Music Staff
Last Week, parents and pupils were treated to a spectacular concert by Mrs Sclater and her instrumental music staff.
The theatre looked fantastic with its new Yamaha grand piano (thanks to a generous donation by The Friends of Hazlegrove) and concert lighting, setting the scene for performances that had everyone dancing in their seats.
Our audience was taken on an incredible musical journey, starting with a festive favourite from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite by Mr Marquiss and Mrs Moore on the piano. Solos ensued on Hazlegrove instruments such as the oboe, French horn, viola and cello, with instrumental staff and Mrs Sclater also joining together to perform everything from Taylor Swift to Irish folk and rock. Not forgetting a memorable visit from The Grinch during a saxophone trio and Mr Marquiss’s sensational Movie Megamix, the evening was finally brought to a close by Mr Marquiss and Mrs Moore, who performed a very Christmassy Sleigh Ride, complete with bells around their knees.
Mrs Sclater and her team had so much fun performing to such an enthusiastic audience that we have decided to reinstate this concert as an annual event. Please watch this space for our next outing!
