Prep Boarding

It was a magic-themed weekend for our boarders this week with visits from Malcolm the Magician, our own Head of Art running some magical art activities as well as the opportunity to welcome Rev Bev for one of his wonderful Sunday services.

The day began with the now famous ‘Hazlegrove Full English Breakfast’ after which the children attended Sunday chapel with Rev Bev which was followed by letter writing. Everyone wrote such lovely handwritten cards (including the staff!). Then, it was time to get into the real fun! The scavenger hunt was a favourite, with pupils running around the school grounds, trying to find 30 pictures of witches and wizards. Then some headed to the pool for a highly competitive game of Quidditch Water polo with some amazing skills on show, and with the added fun of Mr Matthews falling into the pool…

Mr Baker guided the children through some magical art with optical illusions, and arts and crafts which all made for a very relaxing afternoon! After stopping for lunch, there was more fun to be had in the afternoon, the pupils had the pleasure of a visiting magician who treated the children to some mind-blowing tricks. Most of the children are still trying to work out the incredible skills of Malcolm the Magician!

There was plenty of time to relax in the afternoon sun as well as games of Magic Ball and enjoying the grounds on bikes or scooters. later that afternoon hot chocolate and popcorn were on offer to accompany the films in the boarding houses. Sunday wouldn’t be complete without the all-singing, all-dancing Sunday roast with all the trimmings which closed off another fun-filled boarding weekend at Hazlegrove.
