Crunch, crunch as fast as you can, Year 1 children are eating a gingerbread man!

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed making gingerbread men using their maths to weigh and measure ingredients. They loved decorating their gingerbread men and eating them up. The children also innovated the story by changing the end. Some Gingerbread men crossed the river on boats, gliders and zip wires to live happily ever after on the other side. Others got eaten by wolves!

In maths, we have been learning to write number sentences and recognise addition and subtraction symbols. In Geography, the children drew incredible maps of the playground and are beginning to recognise human and physical features.
