Prep science

This term Year 5 have been studying Classification. It has been so impressive to see the effort that pupils have given to the task set this week: getting outside and searching for as many different types of living creatures as they could find, making notes on their characteristics and comparing. Here are some of their discoveries:

Lecky S got out in his garden and found many different organisms, photographing them and documenting their characteristics.

Lily S found a great number of different organisms

Oliver D collected a wide variety of flowers from his garden before drawing up his classification key to organise them according to their characteristics.

Luke Jenkins studying some of the organisms he found and viewing them under his own microscope.

Year 7 pupil Imogen S went above and beyond expectations and managed to borrow a beautiful antique microscope from a neighbour to take a closer look at the cells found on the underside of a leaf.

There are many more examples of exemplary science work this week, a huge well done for all your effort.
