The cold, wet and windy weather has not held us back this week!

The Reception children went in search of signs of Spring on Wednesday and were delighted to discover daffodils, crocuses, blossom and hyacinths growing in the school grounds. Wellies and warm coats were also the dress code for our fireside Forest school session, and we enjoyed yummy pancakes and hot chocolate whilst enthusiastically singing campfire songs. In the classroom, our hyacinths are starting to go over but we are watching our potatoes closely as they chit on the windowsill – we cannot wait to plant them out! In our number work, we have been learning how to pay for cakes and drinks in the classroom café and have excavated and identified coins from the depths of the sand trays. We are very excited about our upcoming trip to the Rural Life Museum and finished our week looking at how farming practices and machinery have changed over time. We are crossing our fingers and toes for better weather next week!
