After a fabulous fry up we all headed off to the coast. Once there we were greeted with glorious sunshine and the excitement of looking forward to the challenge of catching some mackerel. Whilst groups went off to sea, the others enjoyed everything that a British beach has to offer from fun in the sea to beach cricket and, of course, the building of some amazing sandcastles.

There were plenty of fisherman tales from the pupils, describing how big their catch was, regardless of the size, a cooler box full of mackerel proved we have some talented fisherman among the pupils.

Lunchtime came with the seaside classic of fish and chips, there is nothing like enjoying your fish and chips on the beach whilst fending off the seagulls. After lunch the sunbathing and beach games continued until we were ready for that other seaside classic, ice-cream. After clearing up after a fantastic day at the beach we headed back to school for letter writing and an insightful chapel from Mr Schreiber. Then to round of a perfect day: a Sunday roast.

A big thank you to Mr Birch for organising a great day out, a truly fantastic first trip of the year.

Mr Edwards
