Year 4 channelled their adventurous sides on Friday with a thrilling Campout.

The Year 4 children were on a knife edge at lunchtime on Friday with the wind that was forecast. But in true Hazlegrove spirit, we decided not to let Storm Hannah bother us. At 4.30pm our intrepid campers set off to the orchard to put up their tents, helped by a group of Year 8s (who vividly remember their Year 4 campout).

The children were magnificent, the rain held off until they were tucked up in their sleeping bags and they had a wonderful time. We were very proud of them. It is always special to see children out of the classroom and this group were lovely company; they looked after each other and showed real perseverance in the rather testing conditions - with a large dollop of humour. We all have a huge sense of satisfaction (and relief) that we made it through the night!
