Boarding

The boarders all headed to the coast for their Sunday outing this week.

Initially, we trekked over the pebbled ridges of Chesil Beach where we enjoyed our Chapel Service in a calm, picturesque spot. Mr Bartlett led the service and encouraged everyone to share their worries with God. We all created memory stones, before metaphorically and literally, casting our worries into the vast sea.

Then, we headed back towards Weymouth for a picnic lunch on the beach. Sandcastles, cricket, football, a brief dip in sea by some of the braver boarders, reading, crafting and relaxing were enjoyed by all, despite the interruption of some very greedy seagulls! Luckily, the seagulls were not able to devour anyone’s ice cream, of which there was a huge variety of flavours available.

Late in the afternoon, we headed back to Hazlegrove to enjoy the grounds and facilities. Some of the older pupils hunkered down to some revision, before we all enjoyed a delicious roast lamb supper.
