Captain Pug author Laura James came to Hazlegrove today to talk to Year 2 and Year 3.
The children enjoyed hearing about the adventures of Pug and Lady Miranda. They laughed with glee at the thought of Pug's sneaky love of jam tarts, and they thought that although Pug isn't very brave, he is always up for an adventure albeit reluctantly.
Laura James chatted happily about Pug's character and sense of reluctant heroism, and now everyone would like to have a Pug as a pet!
After reading the first exciting chapter of Captain Pug, The Dog Who Sailed the Seas, Laura worked with the children to build a character for a story. There were some very original ideas from the children.
A wonderful and happy morning.
