Samuel Pepys would be proud of the diary writing in year two this week.

The children were all totally immersed in the drama and experience to finding out they were in the middle of a great fire and had to run for their lives! Luckily for Mrs Davison and Miss Coker Harris they had not been written in code, as Samuel Pepys had done when he wrote his diary in 1666. The diary writers even managed to pose in a long and flowing curly wig, which showed them busily composing their thoughts.

To help us dig deeper into the past this week we have been lucky enough to have Mr Stok visiting with many amazing artefacts that we were able to see, touch and explore. Mr Stok turned us all into firefighters. Who knew it was such hard work to get a water pump to work? The children all loved having a go as they put out imaginary fires on the playground. A busy week in Year 2 full of fun and new experiences.
