Reflecting Upon the First Term in Our Academic Year

Pre-Prep PrePrep

And, just like that, the Christmas holidays have arrived!

The Pre-Prep is always a hive of excitement and the children are busy bees, throwing themselves into all aspects of school life, their learning, friendships, clubs and performances. Neither the children, nor staff, have time to stop and think before the next exciting event is on the horizon! This makes our time in school a very exciting, engaging and enjoyable one, but it also means that when we hit the holidays, we are all ready for a good break!

As I reflect upon our first term this academic year, I am overwhelmed with pride for everything that has been achieved already. Not only for the larger showcases of children’s talent such as our Harvest Festival, Nativities and Pre-Prep Concerts, but the daily magical moments we experience in school; from children learning new words and using them in their speech, to having children visit my office to show me their amazing work and progress, from seeing them engaged in their learning to celebrating ‘toilet successes’ – it is a privilege to see all children growing, developing and thriving!

I have to thank the teaching team for their high standard of care, hard work and expertise which goes into ensuring your child has the best possible time in school and makes progress without even noticing.

I also couldn’t go into the holidays without reiterating my thanks again to the Friends of Hazlegrove for their incredible support, effort and skill in organising so many phenomenal events this term, particularly their inaugural Christmas Fayre. Their hard work has supported us here in the Pre-Prep immensely, especially with a proportion of the profits from these events going towards a new Pre-Prep fort which will benefit many children from years to come in developing their motor skills and imaginative play! Thank you to everybody who attended the Friends of Hazlegrove Christmas Fayre at the weekend and showed your support, making it such a mind-blowing success!

Thank you to our parents for your continued kindness and support. I hope you all have a happy and healthy holiday, surrounded by love and laughter, and I look forward to seeing you all in the new year.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2024!
