Coronation Celebration Activities in Pre-Prep

The Pre-Prep have been getting creative this week – making lots of wonderful decorations and crafts to help us understand and celebrate the King’s Coronation tomorrow!

We have had carriages and crowns, banners and bunting, and the bandstand even transformed into a giant crown fit for a King! The School was awash with red, white and blue with the staff and children dressing up in the colours of the Union Jack, and we enjoyed eating our special Coronation lunch expertly prepared by our Catering team, as well as a delicious Coronation cupcake!  It was a hugely exciting day, helping the children to become immersed in this historic event! Every child received a special packet of wildflower seeds in keeping with the King’s love of nature, and we hope you are able to welcome lots of colour and insects to your garden with them.  We would love to hear how you celebrated the Coronation at home and receive any photos of the children sharing what they did!

Our ballet dancers performed beautifully and bravely in our Ballet Showcase this week, demonstrating the skills they have learned to develop their posture, coordination, balance and musicality.  It was wonderful to see the progression from Reception to Year 2 and to hear Miss Bell share the journey the children are on to enter their first Royal Academy of Dance exams!  Thank you to all who attended and created such a supportive and friendly environment for the children to perform in.

We are all so proud of your children and the effort they put into all they do in school, and I’m sure they are ready for an extended weekend to switch off and relax!
