A Busy Week Back for the Reception Children!

A Busy Week Back for the Reception Children!

PrePrep Pre-Prep

It was a busy week back for the Reception children! Off Reception went to the Somerset Rural Life Museum to learn about farming.

The children had a great workshop where they got to experience farming jobs in the past. Threshing wheat was a tiring but rewarding job as we saw the tiny grains of wheat turn into flour! Another arm aching job was turning double cream into butter. The children worked hard to shake their double cream until it became a lump of delicious butter which they could take home and share with their families.

Throughout the week the children have been incorporating their new knowledge into their role play in the classroom. They have been pretending to plant crops and thresh the wheat to provide food for their friends in the classroom.
