Prep Trips

Early Friday morning, the Year 4s headed off down the A303 in a mini convoy on their way to Stonehenge.

The children were excited to step back in time to Neolithic England. After donning our wrist bands and a quick snack, we hopped on the shuttle bus to take us on the 2km journey up to the stones. Gasps and ‘wows’ could be heard from the children as we approached the giant structure. The children were amazed by the size of the stones… they look so much larger in real life! Walking all the way around Stonehenge the children impressed us with their knowledge of the different stones and theories of how they were placed here. We finished our trip with an exploration around the interesting exhibition. A great time was had by all and a big well done to the children for being super ambassadors for the School.

Lottie C: “It was really cool - When you are actually there, the stones seem so much bigger!”

Moiya: “It was amazing when we looked closely at the blue stones you could see the blue tinge and some shiny patches”

Ned: “I enjoyed the trip because there was an actual arrow on the ground which pointed to the midsummer sunrise and the midwinter sunset”
