Vocal pitch, pace, pause, power, projection, clarity, and expression were just some of the skills fifty-eight children demonstrated at our annual Showcase held on Tuesday 1 February.

Our performers rose to the considerable challenge of warming things up with 30 varied scenes learnt for recent scholarship applications and LAMDA examinations.  These included ‘Little Women’, ‘The Wind in the Willows’, ‘The Secret Garden’, ‘The Twits’, ‘Hansel and Gretel’, ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’, ‘The Glass Slipper’ and ‘Richard III’ and several devised pieces, created and scripted by the children themselves.

When closing the show, Headmaster Mark White, observed how all performers rose to the challenge of drawing the audience in to their short scenes so quickly and with such maturity - not an easy thing to do in just a few minutes.  Mark thanked all of those who contributed, supported, and took part in making this event such an enjoyable evening.  Thank you to all parents too for helping performers learn their lines and for being such an appreciative audience - something the children very much appreciate.  You should all be very proud of your children, and we hope you have since been able to defrost from the very well ventilated Hazlegrove Theatre!
