Year 8 History Discover Achievements of Mary Seacole

8S have been considering the life of Mary Seacole and how we can best remember her achievements.

Mary Jane Seacole was a British-Jamaican nurse, healer and businesswoman who set up the "British Hotel" behind the lines during the Crimean War to provide succour for wounded servicemen on the battlefield, and nursed many of them back to health.

The pupils have been designing memorials/statues representing her legacy and trying to encapsulate her achievements.
