Prep Boarding

What a wonderful end to Spring term, the weekend kicked off in true style with the annual boarders’ Easter feast.

The catering team produced a delicious meal for us all which matched the effort the boarders had put into their cracking Easter bonnets. We had everything from a gravity defying mini-egg filled hat to the overall winner; a three-person Hazlegrove ski trip themed bonnet! After the feast, the boarders headed out for Boogie on the Bastion led by resident DJs Snoop Frog and Right Said Head.

After a good night’s sleep, the boarders were treated to a delicious Full English before they were onto the day’s activities. Throughout the morning the boarders were seen scaling the magnificent cedar tree in the woods, ensconced in harnesses and ropes from the Great Tree Climbing Company. There was a feast for the senses with Easter cookies baked in the food tech room and smores on the campfire in the woods. The glorious sunshine this Sunday was an extra treat and meant we could make the most of outdoor activities including lots of cuddles with the guinea pigs and rabbits on the farm, French cricket, 5-a-side football and even Lacrosse on the Moore. Meanwhile, there were some lovely scrapbooks created and Mother’s Day craft created as well as the option to make movies and the children’s own puzzles!

After lunch and rest and reading, there was the annual highlight of the Easter egg hunt. Fiendishly placed eggs were found up trees, hidden in the hedges and even submerged in the gravel! They were all snapped up by the boarders with a few even tracked down by the gaps. After the Easter egg hunt, the boarders headed off for another amazing array of afternoon activities. There was everything from a bunny-themed treasure hunt, archery, Minecraft, touch rugby, mindful craft, to a nerf war and a swim.

Before chapel headed up by Reverend Beverley, the children had time for fruit and a film before a delicious roast dinner to round off a sunny and extra special in-weekend.

Watching the boarders dash between the different activities, including lots of quieter options after a busy term, really gives you a sense of how lucky and happy the children are; there was something special for everyone.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter holiday when it arrives!
