Prep Drama and Dance

The annual Speech and Drama showcase was held in the Hazlegrove Theatre on Thursday 6 February to a full house.

Satine M opened the show, playing 'Lady Jane Grey' in A Room in a Tower, followed by Oliver P as 'Caliban' from the Tempest. Douglas W performed a devised piece as a ‘Watch Salesman’ then Skye P as a possessed 9 year old from a re-telling of Turning of the Screw. Hector M followed as 'Stanhope' from Journey's End and Wilbur G appeared as Toad from Wind in the Willows.

These dramatic scholarship pieces were played with tremendous conviction, sensitivity and where appropriate with a wonderful sense of humour, enjoyed by all. These helped to raise the acting level for the next 28 performances and 55 performers, comprising both acting and devised examination pieces. Without exception, their recent outstanding results were reflected on stage in front of an appreciative audience.  I am so proud of all performers and a special thanks to parents and all staff who helped with this amazing evening. Thank you!'
