Sunday was one of those days when we did exactly what we say we do on the tin!

We enjoyed each other’s company, made some good memories, immersed ourselves in nature and cherished life! Our day was spent largely outdoors and at a chilled pace. We started the day with a full English breakfast and then donned our jackets, with poppies attached, and headed over to Bruton, where we would be joining the Remembrance Service procession. After a moving Service, we headed back to school for a spot of rest and letter writing. A scrumptious meal of roast pork awaited us in the dining hall which refuelled us for the afternoon’s activity.

We made our way to Stourhead - a stunning National Trust garden and house -  and enjoyed the autumn colours on offer. Filled with excitement, the children were armed with cameras and were encouraged to capture the essence of autumn for a photography competition. Who goes to a National Trust location and doesn’t have a cream tea? Not us…we piled into the seating area and ordered 70 cream teas! The children (and staff!) thoroughly enjoyed them. We returned to school for a spot of free time – the pool was in use, as was the sports hall and this took us to supper. We were royally fed by Joe and his team and the children were nothing short of fantastic company.
