Our Year 8 band in the recording studio!

What an opportunity for our Year 8 band, who were invited to make use of the King’s Bruton recording studio this month.

The boys decided to record two songs, with only a 2-hour window in which to complete their task. The Hazlegrove hits, 'Sleepwalker' and 'Come Fly', had been written by Hector S and arranged by the band. Given the limited timeframe, the band had to work quickly and decisively to get everything done. Recording along to a click track, Hector started with piano and vocals, over which the other instruments were layered.

The studio at King's Bruton has some fantastic state of the art recording equipment. As well as spending time in the studio, the band were given the opportunity to learn all about the recording process. The songs are now going to be mixed and mastered by Mr Tupman and Mr Rogers - they already sound amazing so it shouldn't take too long. It's incredible what can be achieved in just two hours!
