Artwaves Makes a Huge Comeback

Prep art and dt

Artwaves, the popular Art/DT based holiday club, hasn’t run for a number of years but this Christmas excitingly saw its return during the first week of the holidays.

It was extremely popular and children got to work on a huge variety of Christmas-themed craft-based activities such as tie-dying, wreath-making, soap making, wooden Christmas trees, painting, embroidery, candle holder making and so much more! We had children attend from Year 3 all the way up to Year 8. It was a fun and relaxed environment and all the children and staff had a wonderful time. We watched Christmas movies together over lunchtimes and played on the adventure playground when the sun came out. On the Friday all the children took part in a Christmas quiz which involved a Christmas hat making competition, a paper chain challenge, Pictionary and other Christmas favourites (mine was ‘Who can tell the worst Cracker joke!). They decorated plates and mugs to leave out for Father Christmas, painted tree decorations and made some crackers to pull at the inner table on Christmas Day.

There was so much to enjoy and all the children went home with bundles of Christmas goodies at the end of each day.

During the Easter break, Artwaves will be running again for the first week of the holiday. Look out for the letter and, if it sounds like something your children would enjoy, sign up quick as we are expecting it to be even more popular as the children all enjoyed themselves so much this time!
