We awoke to one of those wonderful winter days: bitterly cold, frost on the ground but blazing sun and clear blue sky.  Hazlegrove looked stunning we all felt very lucky to be spending the weekend in such a beautiful place.

After the usual brilliant Hazlegrove Sunday fry-up, Mr Robertson led chapel which was all about being a successful leader (thanks to Skye, Imogen, Gabby and Ella for the dramatic element).  Next it was letter writing and then the activities began.  Miss Wun and Miss Watson took those keen to develop their hockey skills off to the bastion for some hockey practise.  Mr Kenny organised painting and arts and crafts.  Stunning things were produced and a very relaxed time was had by all.  In the Sports' hall Mr Robertson set up an enormous Nerf gun war.

Rather successful tactics and battle plans were enacted along with a healthy dose "of let's just try and shoot everyone" and much hilarity was had.  In the pool under the watchful eye of Mr O'Neill, James B organised some rather hilarious challenges which involved running along floats and diving through a tube.  All great fun.

Swimming fun...

Then lunch: delicious beef and next it was time to pile into the mini-buses because we were heading out to the big lights of Yeovil for a spot of bowling.  Lane buffers employed, we quickly began showing off our skills.  Lots of balls careering off at rather interesting angles!  Some very skilful play indeed- Xandria blew us away with a few of her super strikes!

Next we took a short stroll over to the park.  Hot squash and biscuits were enjoyed and then we spent a happy time exploring the really rather cool equipment.  The spinning ride which was pretty much identical to the inside of a washing machine was spun at great speed by Mr O'Neill and pupils came out  looking rather less steady on their feet.

We returned back to school and after supper ventured off for Dover Patrol.  The best way to end a winter weekend at Hazlegrove.
