Boarders fun in the sun and on the water...

Boarding

This weekend embodied all this is Hazlegrove – sport played in a healthy, competitive spirit, good food, laughter, unforgettable memories made to cherish and children having lots of fun!

After a most enjoyable Sports Day, the children were treated to home-made pizzas cooked in the pizza oven near the go kart tracks. The fire had been started at 9am…and when the hungry masses arrived (slightly rosier from the sunshine), the oven was ready to deliver! The afternoon saw many of the boarders playing cricket and rounders games against their parents, whilst the remaining boarders enjoyed games in the woods, nerf wars and a swim.

Sunday morning arrived and the children were greeted with news that we were heading off to Dorset Water Park - situated in the shadow of Corfe Castle. They were excited but wary of the claim that this was to be the best trip ever! We arrived at the Park and there was a buzz amongst the children not dissimilar to the re-Christmas opening presents buzz…things were looking good.

The Water Park consists of two ponds filled with inflatable obstacle courses. The children had a blast and many said that it felt like the quickest and most enjoyable one hour in years! We had a picnic in the grounds and travelled back to school, with lots of chatter about what really happened on the floats – pushing lifeguards in and staff chasing children around and occasional “bumping” them in to the water. And many agreed that it was indeed the best trip ever!

A snack, a spot of free play, Chapel and letter writing awaited us and then we were treated to a delicious Sunday roast. What a weekend!
