Riding  - National NSEA County Show Jumping Champions

Four of our Hazlegrove riders headed up to Buckingham to compete in the NSEA (National Schools Equestrian Association) National Finals. The children rode brilliantly and claimed the title National NSEA County Champions.  They now go forward to represent England in the NSEA Nations Cup in October.  Read the full report here.

Cricket

Congratulations to our Lady Taverners girls' cricket team who finished as runners up in the Regional Finals this week. During the day they had superb wins over the Hampshire, the Wiltshire and the Devon County Champions but narrowly (penultimate ball) lost to the Dorset champions - Bournemouth Girls School.  They can be very proud of this achievement; they have placed some lovely cricket throughout the competition.

National Schools Biathlon Finals at Crystal Palace

During the Easter holidays 18 children and 3 staff represented Hazlegrove at the National Schools Finals at Crystal Palace.  Everyone really enjoyed this special occasion and competing at this national competition.  Our U10 boys team of Charlie S, Charlie G and Gray S finished a very creditable 3rd overall and our staff team of Miss Kurle, Miss Watson and Mrs Evans won their ‘Female Teachers’ category.

Squash

Congratulations to our squash players who all played so well at the National IAPS Tournament that took place at Millfield in the Easter holidays.  A special mention must go to Monty P-P for reaching the semi-finals of the senior cup competition and also to Ben F who finished as runner up in the plate section.  Well done indeed.

We were delighted to hear that the following have qualified for this year’s prestigious  National Finals that take place at the K2 Centre in Crawley on Saturday 6 May:

  • U13 Girls Medley Relay Team - Tilly L, Kai S, Tara M and Anya E

Congratulations and good luck!

Netball Trip

What a lovely evening our Year 7 and 8 girls had last weekend in Bath.  We travelled up to watch Team Bath take on the Celtic Dragons in a Super League match and we were treated to a thrilling evening of top class sport.  Team Bath won  in a very exciting and tense final quarter.

The girls really enjoyed seeing the sport played at such a high standard and we hope that this will have given them some tips to put into action in the future!
