The Lower School delighted parents, friends, staff and pupils with their spectacular production of Wilbur and the Web – a musical based on the popular children’s story Charlotte’s Web.
It was wonderful to see the confidence with which the Year 4 children acted as we followed the fortunes of Wilbur the pig (the runt of a litter) from his initial start in life where he seemed doomed to grisly fate, to the moment when he won a special prize at the local show and his future was safe – all thanks to the ingenuity and help of Charlotte the spider. The clarity with which the children delivered their lines was a joy to behold – everyone could be heard quite clearly, even from the back of the packed theatre. The Year 3s clearly enjoyed swelling the ranks of the chorus and were fantastic in joining in with all actions and routines in the many songs that delighted us throughout the show.
Well done Years 3 and 4 and a big thank you to everyone who has helped make this such a special production for them this year!
