International Hazlegrove - Overseas Admissions

International Hazlegrove - Overseas Admissions

Set within 200 acres of parkland in Somerset with outstanding facilities, we welcome children of all ages into the Pre-Prep from 2 to 7 and in the Prep School from 7 to 13. We are a day and boarding school in which our greatest desire is to provide as many opportunities and experiences for each child so that they can discover their own unique skills and talents and develop into curious and passionate learners. We believe that every child is a human being with immeasurable potential, not simply an academic robot, and it is our goal at Hazlegrove to find and nurture that potential.

Our daughter adores Hazlegrove and despite all of the challenges that we face as an Overseas Boarding Family; she remains so relaxed at school and dedicated to her studies that we know she must feel very happy and secure with you and for that, we are so grateful.

Why Choose Hazlegrove?

A boarding prep school in the UK offers a unique opportunity for children to become part of a nurturing environment and to establish themselves early within the UK educational system. Hazlegrove has strong links with a large number of prestigious senior schools to which our children go on such as Eton, Winchester, Cheltenham Ladies College, Sherborne, Wycombe Abbey, and many more. Boarding from the age of 7+ in the UK ensures that your child becomes more proficient in their use of the English language at a younger age. Children understand boarding school life and culture ahead of their senior school choice leading to children being far better prepared for the all-important years when external examinations take place.

Choosing the right school for your child is a difficult decision and our admissions team are on hand to help you throughout the process. Hazlegrove prepares children for the next phases of their lives, for the demands of a more specialised senior education, and, in the longer term, to be able to meet the challenges of the workplace and to thrive in their personal and professional lives, understanding their responsibilities in making the world a better place.

It is all about the family feel at Hazlegrove and the well-being of our children is the most important aspect of school life. As a team of adults, caring for children, we continually strive to keep the children and their happiness, at the forefront of all that we do, think and say. Houseparents live in accommodation within the houses. With other houses in the grounds being home to staff and their families, it means there are over 25 adults resident at the school. House parents are on duty five nights out of seven with resident members of staff being responsible on the other evenings.

Our Prep Boarding Programme

At Hazlegrove our boarders are the heartbeat of the school. It’s of paramount importance to us that your children feel safe and happy staying here, and our thriving community of full-time boarders is testament to our success.

We ensure that our boarding environment is one where:

  • There is a genuine family-feel
  • There is a trusting and safe environment where everyone feels that they can be the best person they were intended to be
  • A community flourishes, that includes others and encourages the involvement of parents, non-resident staff and day children alike.

There is plenty of opportunity to keep connected with all that your child is enjoying as a boarder. There are three telephones in each House for the children to call home, parents can also email or call the Houseparents on the House office number. All boarders have email access and the regular use of this is actively encouraged to keep in contact with family, there are also a number of devices to enable skype calls for children whose parents are overseas.

We are simply bowled over by the care, the professionalism, love and attention you have all shown to our son and us.
