It was wonderful to begin the week by welcoming the children's parents into the classroom to join us for the morning. The children were so proud to show off their classrooms and have their parents join in with some creative hedgehog-making and Dough Disco.

We have been learning facts about hedgehogs this week, and the children have enjoyed the story The Prickly Tale of Timothy Bristles by Tina Barrott. Whilst making their own hedgehogs, the children used careful counting when adding eyes and noses and selected materials that were a good match for spiky prickles!

Alongside the story, the children have enjoyed the sensory experience of feely bags and sniffing pots, which helped to bring the story to life. This also helped them to learn new vocabulary linked to hedgehogs and autumn.
