This week, Year 8 ventured outside to collect and record their own data as part of a mini project focused on averages and the presentation of data. Working collaboratively, the pupils gathered information about cars before returning to the classroom to analyse their findings using a range of mathematical methods. They explored how to calculate averages, identify patterns within data and present their results clearly using graphs and charts. The project provided a valuable opportunity to apply mathematical skills in a practical context, helping pupils to develop their confidence in handling and interpreting data while seeing how these concepts can be used in everyday situations.
