Nursery Spot the Signs of Autumn
This week, the children have enjoyed many walks around the school grounds, hunting for autumnal items. We have been reading the story Fox's Autumn, which has helped to spark various conversations about what happens in autumn. The children have been using their senses when exploring an autumn treasure basket, where they learnt about some new objects as well as others that were already familiar.
We have talked about the various colours found in autumn and looked closely at all the different nuts and berries that grow, as well as which animals eat them.
The children have enjoyed using all these materials in their creative work, squashing and painting with berries and leaves, and rolling and transporting conkers. They have also shown great imagination when using conkers as hedgehogs. We will explore this interest further next week!
