Upper School Make Their Mark on the New Astro

Following the official opening of Hazlegrove’s new hockey pitch by Sally Moore, Upper School pupils were among the first to enjoy the facility during Games on Wednesday afternoon.

The session marked an exciting milestone for the school, with all Upper School girls taking to the pitch and experiencing the benefits of the state-of-the-art surface. Staff and pupils alike were delighted with the quality of the facility, which provided an excellent playing experience and showcased the girls’ enthusiasm and skill.

Attention now turns to the HZG U13 Tournaments, taking place this Saturday, when the new pitch will host its first competitive matches. The facility is set to benefit all pupils across the Prep School, where hockey remains a key part of the sporting programme.

The investment represents an exciting step forward for hockey at Hazlegrove, providing young players with an outstanding environment in which to develop their skills and foster a lifelong passion for the sport. The school hopes the new pitch will inspire future generations of hockey players, with aspirations of seeing more former pupils progress to represent their countries and compete at the highest levels, including the Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
