Hazlegrove Stories

More stories

Boys boarding in Y7 and Y8 live at School House in the main school building with smaller dorms and a common room reflecting their changing needs as they grow older. Mr and Mrs Schreiber are the houseparents here and provide a vibrant atmosphere where the boys are encouraged to be active, curious and develop maturity and life skills that will stand them in good stead for the future.

Regan and Gail Schreiber joined Hazlegrove as houseparents in September, 2016. Beforehand they had been houseparents first in a boarding school in South Africa for six years and then ten years in a full boarding prep school in East Sussex.

The Schreiber family

Mr Schreiber enjoys hiking, walking and all sports. He participates in open water swimming events and triathlons and enjoys playing tennis and squash. His hobbies include reading, BBQs (called braais), making biltong, carving walking sticks and following F1.

Mrs Schreiber is also a qualified teacher and loves arts and crafts. She paints, sews, and loves baking! She has been working in Learning Support.

The Schreibers have three children, all of whom attend Hazlegrove. They are a family of keen walkers!
