Musical productions

We feel it important to give every child in the school an opportunity to ‘tread the boards’.  You can see some pictures from our many productions in the drama gallery.

In 2009/10 our musical productions have seen Years 3 and 4 on stage with the ‘Pinafore Pirates’ – a pastiche of Gilbert and Sullivan- Year 6 with the story of ‘Samson’ and a tremendous finale to the Year with Year 8 performing 'West Side Story'.

2008/9 brought another year of musical theatre at its best with Years 3 and 4 showing us the story of the hare and the tortoise in the musical ‘Zoom’. Year 6 gave a very convincing performance of ‘Ebeneezer’ and Year 8 excelled with the wonderful production of ‘Oklahoma’

In 2007/8  Years 3 and 4 have performed the show ‘Splash’, the story of Noah’s Ark from the animals’ perspective and the Year 6 children have produced Disney’s ‘Mulan’. The Year 8’s challenge this year was 1970’s rock musical ‘Disco Inferno’.

In 2006/7 Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed Disney’s ‘Aladdin’, Years 3 and 4 took us to ‘Treasure Island’ and Year 8 gave superb performances of ‘Oliver!’.

In 2005/6, Years 3 and 4 did a production of ‘We Haz Jazz’, a journey through the history of American Jazz music, Year 5 delighted us with a ‘Victorian Music Hall’ evening, Year 6 zoomed us into space with ‘Blast Off’, Year 7 had us rolling in the aisles with an evening of comedy playlets and Year 8 raised the roof with the musical extravaganza ‘That’s Entertainment’, an all-singing, all-dancing show featuring the musicals of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rodgers and Hammerstein, Chicago, Les Miserables and Grease – accompanied by our own professional orchestra.
