Boarding
The Boarding Community is one of the great strengths of Hazlegrove. We are fortunate to have really good houseparents in each of our three boarding houses. They are amongst the best you will find, totally committed to the well-being of the pupils in their care.
Mrs Fenwick, the Head’s wife, oversees and co-ordinates all aspects of the boarding, supporting the houseparents and working closely with two on-site matrons who also have an important pastoral role as well as looking after the practical needs of the pupils.
Lankester House
The junior boys live in Lankester House which is situated in the centre of the school with Mr and Mrs Forbes as their houseparents. Mr Forbes is a Year 4 class teacher and Mrs Forbes teaches RE. The youngest boys are in Year 3 and the oldest in Year 6.

Blackford House
The girls live in Blackford with Mr and Mrs Hadfield. Mr Hadfield is Head of History and Mrs Hadfield teaches English.
School House
The senior boys live on the top two floors of the main house with the houseparents Mr and Mrs Sawrey-Cookson and their young children, George, Rosie, Sebastian and Lachlan. Boys join School House in Year 6 or Year 7 and they enjoy the smaller dorms, a common room and the greater freedom that comes with seniority. Mr Sawrey-Cookson is Assistant Head (Pastoral) and teaches history.
