Admissions procedure
Following a visit to the school, if you are interested in applying for a place at Hazlegrove the normal procedure would be as follows:
A trial day at the school
Following a visit, most prospective pupils spend a day, and possibly a night, at the school. This way, they can get a feel for the school and have the chance to meet other pupils in their year group. During the day, a short assessment will take place. If your child is unable to visit Hazlegrove for a trial day and you wish to apply for a place, please contact the Admissions Secretary (01963 442606) to discuss your application.
Applying for a place
Following a trial day, you are invited to apply for a place for your child. Applications should be submitted to the Admissions Secretary who will acknowledge receipt thereof. An offer of a place will usually be made at this time but on occasions where we have considerable demand for limited spaces in a year group, we reserve the right to delay making any offer until later in the academic year. For children aged five and above, all offers of places made are subject to the receipt of satisfactory references from your child’s current school.

Accepting a place
Once the offer of a place has been made by the school, the place can be secured by completing the Acceptance Form accepting the School’s Terms and Conditions as detailed in the Parent / School Contract. Acceptance Forms will be sent with the letter offereing a place and must be returned to the Admissions Secretary by the date specified on the form in order to guarantee that place. Acceptance Forms received after this date will still be considered but we reserve the right to advise you that the place is no longer available.
Scholarships
Scholarships are available for pupils of outstanding academic ability at 7+ for entry into Year 3 and at 11+ for entry into Year 7. Assessments are held in late January or early February. Pupils with outstanding musical or sporting talent may also apply to be assessed for an award. For further details and an entry form please contact the Admissions Secretary (01963 442606). The scholarships for entry in 2010 have now taken place. Information about the Scholarships for entry in September 2011 will be posted here during the Autumn Term, 2010.
Uniform
The school shop is located on site and holds stock to cover the complete school uniform as well as other useful items. When fitting out a new pupil with a complete uniform parents are encouraged to make a personal appointment. A supply of good quality second hand uniform is sometimes available.
